Pre-Drywall Inspections
A pre-drywall inspection is referred to as a “phase inspection.” Although there are other construction phases, we have found that we gain the most insight into a home’s build quality before drywall is hung. At this point in the construction process, the house is “dried in,” meaning that the roof and the exterior envelope are at stages of completion that enable them to shed water. Plumbing and electrical components have been run through the walls, floors, and ceilings. Framing has been substantially completed. HVAC ductwork is often in place. This phase is our best opportunity to discover installation defects or deficiencies that would otherwise be hidden from view during a standard home inspection.
All pre-drywall inspections performed by BNA Home Inspection follow the ASHI Pre-Drywall Standards of Practice. Within 24 hours of completion of the inspection, you will receive a written report with explanations, photos, and recommended actions.
